A Trip To Cashel, Co Tipperary

Cashel v Rainey

Just back from Cashel. Went down to Co Tipperary for the last game of the season.

They have already won the Ulster Bank League Division 2B and we had an outside chance of a play-off game against the 3rd lowest team in Division 2A. Lost by 20 points to 17 points but played very well and weren’t helped by some interesting interpretations regarding the scrum.

Also went to the Vale of Aherlow with its views of the Galtee Mountains.  We managed to see some of Co. Tipperary along the River Suir with the towns of Cahir, Clonmel and Carrick on Suir with its association with the Butler family. Saw the Swiss Cottage which has only 4 rooms and was used by the Butler family for entertaining. Leaving Carrick to drive back to Cashel we travelled along the by-roads through Fethard with many stud farms.

Will definitely go back to take more photographs.
